Jimi's Mysterious Fuzz Tone
During 1969 and 1970, Jimi Hendrix used a Fuzz Face distortion pedal that sounded different from any of his other Fuzz Faces. This red version of the Fuzz Face had a much more aggressive and biting tone than audiences had ever experienced before. The Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Fuzz Mini distortion pedal is built to provide the Hendrix lover with that iconic tone. Painstakingly created by engineers at Dunlop, this pedal has a version of the Octavio circuit that does not have the "octave-up" effect. The Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Fuzz faithfully re-creates the gravelly, biting tone from Jimi's red fuzz. Hendrix fans at Sweetwater also liked the psychedelic graphic that immortalizes Jimi's spirit and likeness.











Modified Octavio Circuit
The Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Fuzz carries a modified Octavio circuit. Most notably, the octave portion of the circuit is removed. You're left with a square waveform that drips with saturation. In addition it has an in-your-face bite and heavy presence that is almost out of control. When you roll back the volume though, the Band of Gypsys Fuzz becomes considerably more behaved and cleans up well.




Huge tone with a small footprint
If Dunlop were to put this circuit into a traditionally sized Fuzz Face housing, it wouldn't be practical for today's guitarists. Luckily, Dunlop shrank the circuitry and crammed it into a mini pedal housing. This size is incredibly pedalboard friendly and won't require you to remove any of your favorite pedals to harness Jimi's sound.
