Creating WaveMaps with the ToneDexter
Creating your own ToneDexter WaveMaps is the most accurate way to imprint the natural tone of your instrument back onto your direct signal. Here's how it works: connect your stringed instrument's piezo pickup to the ToneDexter's 1/4" instrument input. Then plug any standard studio microphone (dynamic, condenser, or active ribbon) into the ToneDexter's XLR input and mic up your instrument, using the headphone output to adjust placement to taste. Once you find the sweet spot, you're all set — ToneDexter will try to best match your direct signal to the microphone signal as you play along. Once you're satisfied with the results, custom WaveMaps can be saved to a 22-slot user bank with plenty of room for all your guitars and instruments.
