Let’s face it, there’s lots of overdrive pedals out there that capture Marshall-in-a-box, Fender Tweed-in-a-box, even Orange and Hiwatt-in-a-box but there aren’t many out there that accurately capture the true essence, chime, and grit of an AC30. The Catalinbread CB30 is possibly the most accurate Vox-in-a-box (sorry, I couldn’t resist that one!) to date delivering all the classic British chime and dynamic response of this legendary amplifier and harnessing it just for you. The Catalinbread CB30 features interactive tone controls that work just like the amp. Increasing the Treble and Bass scoops out the mids for that jangly sound and vice versa for a midrange honk with that classic shimmery high end finish that screams “happy ending”. This elusive tone is the basis of the Catalinbread CB30 and is meant to be a foundation for your tone. As such it stacks incredibly well with other pedals (Naga Viper anyone?) or stands on its own for classic British chime. Just like the amplifier the CB30 has exceptional response to picking dynamics and guitar volume, cleaning up with a light stroke and punching through with attitude when hit hard.
