Fender has done great work resurrecting their coveted classics. But unlike a real closeted collector, the Tomatillo Strato is clean, correct, and ready to play. Quartersawn maple neck
Fender's classic "V" profile is beloved by vintage enthusiasts. The Tomatillo Strat sports this in a more modern 9.5" fingerboard radius for better lead potential. The quartersawn maple neck offers superior strength and resistance to warping, for an instrument that's built to last a lifetime (or longer).




Handwound single-coils with added tricks
The vintage-voiced pickups in your Tomatillo Strat are of the same heritage as Fender's El Diablo and Ancho Poblano sets. Alnico II magnets simulate what a set of Alnico V pickups from the 1950s might sound like. The results speak for themselves: highs are defined and bell clear, with a slight midrange contour and a bass end that clips gorgeously. If you're like Sweetwater guitarists, you'll love the Tomatillo's half-blend wiring, which lets you blend position 5 with P1 and P2 for thicker, richer leads and chord work.
