Classic Strat Style and Tone
With his band The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr. has been at the forefront of the modern garage rock movement for almost two decades, and his Signature Stratocaster is packed with a vintage-tinged style that complements his classic sound. An alder body offers a balanced sound with equal doses of lows, mids, and highs, while a rosewood-capped maple neck brings clarity, snap, and warmth. Ceramic single-coil pickups supply everything from warm and fluid rhythm tones to bright, biting leads. Experience new dimensions of classic Strat tones, thanks to the Albert Hammond Jr. Signature Strat's customized pickup switching. The Albert Hammond Jr. Signature Stratocaster includes a bevy of eye-catching '70s-era appointments and a vintage-style tremolo. Classic tonewood construction The Albert Hammond Jr. Signature Strat is carved from the time-tested tonewood combination of alder and maple. Alder, a generally lighter wood, offers a balanced sound with equal doses of lows, mids, and highs. It also produces excellent sustain. Alder has been a favorite on Fenders for decades, and has played a part of some of the most enduring tones in rock history. This guitar's maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard — at Sweetwater, we've found that this yields a smoother high end and added warmth, no matter what rig you play through. Fast-playing Modern "C" maple neck Leo Fender wasn't afraid to think outside the box when it came to guitar designs. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blonde natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. The Albert Hammond Jr. Signature Strat keeps the trademark maple neck and tops it with a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets and a 7.25" radius. You'll also find that the neck's Modern "C" profile has the uncanny ability to fill your hand in a reassuring way, while never slowing you down. Ceramic single-coil pickups with customized switching The Stratocaster was the first production guitar with three pickups, and it's no surprise that this configuration is just as popular today as it was in 1954. Like its predecessors, the Fender Albert Hammond Jr. Signature Stratocaster comes from the factory with three ceramic single-coil pickups. But its customized pickup switching is where things get interesting: position four activates the neck and bridge pickups simultaneously, while positions one and three are reversed from the traditional Strat layout.
