Bob Taylor designed the Grand Auditorium Guitar in 1994 to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. As wide and deep as a dreadnaught for that rich booming sound but with a narrower waist that delivers greater treble for better definition across the well-balanced tonal spectrum. The Taylor 214ce-K has a Sitka spruce top supported by forward shifted bracing to deliver a rich, balanced tone while the koa laminate sides and back offer a brighter foundation that will age into a warm, well-rooted sound. The Venetian cutaway allows access to all 20 frets while it enhances the visual appeal of this guitar along with simple but elegant appointments, magnificent craftsmanship and a beautiful glossy natural finish.
The 214ce-K is equipped with Taylor’s Expression System Transducer so you can plug in and be heard in any situation thanks. The ES-T® sits under the bridge saddle with individual transducer elements for each string. A 9-volt battery powered onboard preamp provides the dynamic response of a custom voiced EQ with active volume, bass and treble controls. Feedback is easily controlled by the Phase switch located on the preamp board inside the soundhole.
