He had the opportunity to work very closely with LsL craftsmen to specify every little detail about the instrument's construction and tone. He chose a lightweight alder body for its warm and even sounds, vintage-style pickups with plenty of top-end clarity, and a neck profile that is patterned after his old '61. This guitar is Verheyen's main instrument. Those results speak for themselves.

Just about every single aspect of the Carl Verheyen Special solidbody electric guitar is handcrafted by the small team of luthiers at LsL. All the details, from the hand-selected tonewoods to the slugs in the pickups, are crafted with as much attention and care as the rest of the instrument. Even the incredibly thin nitrocellulose finish is painstakingly applied by hand. All of this personal attention adds up to guitars that are flawless and consistent from instrument to instrument.
