Tonal Evaluation
This is simply one of the most mind-melting 18 Style instruments we've played in the history of the shop. The bass response is outstanding - it's huge, but especially useable and transparent with a solid and wholly present fundamental. The mid-range has brilliant separation and the trebles response is massive and multi-faceted. When played with a pick, it doesn't rival a dreadnaught ...it BECOMES a dreadnaught with a woody snap and sparkle on the top end that allows it be right at home in any music-making situation. When played fingerstyle, it presents with a shocking degree of warmth and overall presence throughout its rather broad sonic range. This guitar was built to appeal to players that love the sound and feel of a great OM...but are also seeking more power, projection and low-end richness in an instrument. A guitar that simultaneously works brilliantly in the studio and is mic-friendly, yet equally awe-inspiring when playing it in the living room.
