Tonal Evaluation
Sometimes, falling deeply in love with a guitar can be a little bit distressing. I love Strats, but this one is so good that I don't know if I have any room in my heart for any others! It takes a lot to get me to contemplate Stratocaster monogamy, but this serial is truly special. Overall, the frequency response is spectacularly even, with a slight bump across the entire midrange spectrum. Also, like a lot of the vintage Fenders I love, this serial has a fairly dry frequency response, so you hear a huge-normous fundamental for every note you play. This gives this Strat a relatively dark, woody voice, but that dryness means that every note of even the thickest, strangest jazz chord will ring out with exceptional clarity. The neck pickup is pillowy in the low-end with a little sparkle in the upper midrange, the middle position is punchy and dense, and the bridge pickup retains that natural warmth while lending exceptional presence, cut, and bite. Anyone looking for a Stratocaster to put a ring on should check this blonde bomber out!
