The baritone uke: big tone and guitarist-friendly tuning
The baritone sports the largest of the four traditional ukulele body sizes, and is tuned differently. Unlike the standard G-C-E-A tuning of a concert uke, the baritone is tuned D-G-B-E. If you're also a guitarist, this will be familiar: the same as the top four strings of your 6-string guitar — which should make for easy transition between the two instruments. The bass range of the baritone uke is, naturally, more robust than tenor, concert, and soprano ukuleles, and its larger body projects fuller tone with greater volume and depth.
