Marco "Maus" Biazzi's signature Schecter Maus M7 7-string solidbody electric guitar is built for the down-tuned, high-gain sounds he helped make popular during his time with Lacuna Coil. Maus chose an ash body and multi-ply maple/bubinga neck for the M7 to add attack and low end to the guitar's natural voice. Woods chosen for tone and stability
Maus specified a swamp ash body for his M7 signature guitar for its inherent clear top end and big lows. Then he went with a multi-ply neck design that pairs maple and bubinga, both hard woods that offer a lot of sustain and attack, to keep the neck extremely stable and from moving under stressful environmental situations. The neck is then reinforced with Schecter's carbon fiber rods, further ensuring Maus, and you, will get the same streamlined performance from his guitar night after night.
An aggressive voice with plenty of clarity
The voice of the Maus M7 comes from a pair of active EMG 7-string humbucking pickups. The 81-7X in the bridge position is designed around the iconic EMG 81 and offers the same high output, cutting top end, and massive low punch. This has been the pickup of choice for many of today's most revered metal players. The 707 humbucker in the neck is engineered to retain note clarity on the guitar's lowest strings under the pressures of down tuning and playing through a high-gain amp. The Maus M7 7-string was built with a lot of specifications to make it play and feel just like you need it to. The guitar's neck boasts Schecter's Ultra Thin 'C' profile that is round enough to give you something to grab, while being thin enough to let you fly across the 12" to 16" compound radius fretboard uninhibited. Easy access to all 24 frets is available thanks to Schecter's set neck design with Ultra Access heel. And seven Hipshot Grip-Lock locking tuners keep your strings from going out of tune.
