Introduced in 1961 and commonly referred to as a ’62 Doublecut Duo-Jet, this beauty was born of a collaboration between Wildwood and Masterbuilder Steve Stern and his team in Corona CA. Wildwood Guitars has always had a phenomenal relationship with Gretsch, and we've been honored to work closely with Steve Stern to create some truly special instruments that we hold near and dear to our hearts, including the very instrument you're viewing now. The Lightweight Chambered body is crucial to the wonderful acoustic response and resonance that enhances the electric vibe beautifully. TV Jones Classic pickups evoke a golden era of pure lush tonal clarity when played clean and a cool nod to Woodstock when overdriven – transparent warmth to punchy treble and the shimmer of a Bigsby make for a unique and essential part of any good tone selection. A stellar Quilted Maple Top is not historically accurate but we’ve heard no complaints yet!
