Modern innovations deliver classic tone with modern quality
Although its tone is legendary, the classic Tone Bender circuit is too wild and grainy for modern high-output pickups and high-gain amplifiers. Fortunately, 65amps has tweaked the Colour Bender fuzz pedal so that modern players can enjoy the fantastic voice of this classic circuit. First of all, the Colour Bender gives you 2 distinct modes - the classic wild germanium distortion of the stock circuit and an adjusted mode that accommodates modern guitars and amps. You also get a "Colour" notch filter that gives your guitar a midrange boost, making it jump out of your mix.

The 65amps Colour Bender fuzz pedal is made with premium germanium transistors and amp parts, rather than cheaply made pedal parts. In fact, the Colour Bender uses some of the same components as 65amps guitar amplifiers! In typical 65amps fashion, the Colour Bender is a well-built modernization and improvement of a classic design.
Sola Sound Tone Bender MKII - a brief history
Produced between 1966 and 1968, the Sola Sound Tone Bender MKII's distinctive 3-transistor germanium design shaped Jimmy Page's guitar sound during the early days of Led Zeppelin, as well as Eric Clapton's famous "Woman Tone," that was featured prominently on the Disraeli Gears album by Cream. The MKII featured 3 germanium Mullard OC75 transistors (although some reportedly used Mullard OC81D transistors). The 65amps Colour Bender fuzz pedal is a re-creation of the classic 3-transistor germanium fuzz circuit that improves on the original design while preserving its legendary tone.
