Decked out in Dragon Cartel red, the limited-release Friedman JEL-100 is the signature guitar amp head of virtuosic axe-slinger Jake E. Lee. This 100-watt, 2-channel beast displays enough hard rock muscle to make any guitar scream like a war machine. Channel one churns out Plexi-inspired tones that range from crystalline clean to AC/DC-esque crunch. Channel two delivers a British-style high-gain sound, with a high/low Gain switch for added versatility. The JEL-100 boasts plenty of sound shaping, with a 3-band EQ on each channel, plus a bevy of other tone-sculpting controls. This feature-laden amp head includes a high/low Power switch for rocking out at bedroom volumes, a 4-/8-/16-ohm switch for cabinet compatibility, and an ultra-transparent effects loop for your pedals and effects. Handwired using custom, American-made transformers, the limited-release Friedman JEL-100 was autographed by Jake E. Lee himself.

The JEL-100 covers the full gamut of Jake E. Lee’s metallic, ‘70s-inspired hard rock tones. Channel one invokes the sweetness and warmth of a classic British non-master-volume amplifier. This channel can deliver sparkling clean tones, juicy edge-of-breakup textures, or full-on hard rock crunch. Channel one includes a 3-band EQ for sculpting your sound, plus Volume and Gain knobs, and a 3-way Bright switch. Channel two is the JEL-100’s higher-gain channel. At lower gain settings, it’s crunchy as all get-out. At higher gain settings, it’ll have you barking at the moon. Channel two features a 3-band EQ, plus Master, Gain, Presence, and Thump controls, the latter of which dials in your girth and low end. A high/low Gain switch rounds out channel two, enabling you to go from a thunderous growl to all-out high-gain metal territory. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that this amp is tailor-made for cranking up to 10 (It even sounds great with the Gain knobs on 10).
