Strandberg creates innovative, inspiring guitars
The BOSS V-BDN is based on Strandberg's Boden. This guitar features a contoured shape that allows for multiple comfortable playing positions, while its headstock-less design provides low weight and excellent balance. Its maple-topped basswood body exhibits quick, punchy response and an organic, resonant sound. This guitar sports Strandberg's patented EndurNeck shape and a multi-scale fretboard, which promote relaxation in the muscles, joints, and tendons in your hand, wrist, and forearm. Many guitarists here at Sweetwater feel that the V-BDN is one of the most ergonomic instruments that they've played. Beyond that, V-BDN's hardware is made from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum that effectively transfers string vibrations into the guitar's tonewoods.

When you play a BOSS V-BDN, you have access to a shocking number of sounds. First, you can play through this guitar's Lace Alumitone pickups, which deliver a bold, full-range humbucker tone with enough snarl to cut through the densest of mixes. Next, access an array of modeled single-coil and humbucker sounds or transform your guitar into a bass, electric sitar, nylon-string acoustic, or steel-string acoustic. Summon string synth leads, synth organs, and lead sounds gleaned from a vintage Roland GR-300 analog guitar synth. You can also switch instantly to any of five alternate tunings without adjusting your actual string tension. And if your batteries die during a performance, don't fret — your standard pickups will still work.




Bold tone from Lace Alumitone humbuckers
Even without the V-Guitar tech, the BOSS V-BDN would still be a veritable tone machine, thanks to its dual Lace Alumitone humbuckers. These pickups represent a departure from traditional pickups. The chrome area in the Alumitone design acts as a giant single turn of wire to create the flux field. All this gives Alumitones a bold, full-range tone with massive lows, sparkling highs, and liquid-sounding mids with enough punch to cut through a loud band — all with stunning clarity and articulation. Other advantages include greater resistance to microphonic feedback and electromagnetic interference. Lastly, aluminum is lighter in weight than copper, noticeably shaving weight off your guitar.





Mode Selector Knob Functions:
The V-BDN has a 5-position mode selector knob that provides access to 25 onboard sounds. Each position supplies access to 5 different sounds via the guitar’s 5-way blade selector switch.

Position 1 Engages the guitar's normal humbucking pickups.
Position 2 Engages modeled single-coil sounds.
Position 3 Engages modeled humbucker sounds.
Position 4 Engages bass, humbucker w/ octave down on strings 5 and 6, electric sitar, nylon-string acoustic, and steel-string acoustic sounds.
Position 5 Engages string synth lead, synth organ, and GR-300 lead sounds (octave down, normal, octave up).





Tuning Knob Functions:
The 6-position tuning knob on the V-BDN provides instant access to standard tuning and 5 virtual tunings.

Position 1 Accesses standard tuning.
Position 2 Accesses E-flat tuning (all strings a semitone down).
Position 3 Accesses D tuning (all strings a whole step down).
Position 4 Accesses Drop D tuning (D-A-D-G-B-E).
Position 5 Accesses Drop C tuning (C-G-C-F-A-D).
Position 6 Accesses Drop C tuning (C-G-C-F-A-D).
