The EarthQuaker Devices Hoof Reaper combines two great fuzz boxes with an octave effect, each with its own independent footswitch for all seven possible combinations. The all-analog Octave serves up a distinct note an octave higher than your played note for an effect that really starts to shine above the 12th fret. The Hoof is a germanium/silicon hybrid based on the sound of the green Russian Big Muff. With its own set of Tone, Fuzz and Level controls, the Hoof offers a tighter sound that cleans up for a big boost of clarity or dirties up for smooth sustain and massive volume. The Hoof’s Shift control alters the sweep of the Tone control by scooping or enhancing the mids. The Tone Reaper delivers vintage style fuzz worthy of its inspiration, the “3-knob” Tonebender. This germanium/silicon hybrid comes with its own Tone, Fuzz and Volume controls to produce a staggering variety of tones from thin and spitty to huge distortion. Standard 9vDC operation.
