The Fender Custom Shop '60s Stratocaster Heavy Relic/Closet Classic Mix is a classic Strat all the way through. The alder body even sports a color-over-color paint job and nitro finish, for the look of a vintage guitar that's been repainted once or twice. The custom neck is choice maple, unfinished for a well-worn feel. Many guitar collectors like the Heavy Relic look, but even more players get these guitars because they feel so comfortable and broken-in.
Closet Classic hardware for vintage looks and reliable performance
The Heavy Relic look naturally calls for highly-distressed hardware, but many players prefer the smoother feel of Fender's Closet Classic hardware. This hardware is slightly aged for a vintage look, but not to the point that it feels rough on your hand while palm muting near the bridge.
Ancho Poblano pickups for spicy Strat tone

The Custom Shop Ancho Poblano single-coil pickups are specially engineered to offer you spicy expressive tones that get progressively hotter from neck to bridge pickup. The middle and neck pickups are tweaked across the strings for maximum note definition, while the flat-pole bridge pickup is fashioned for punch, allowing you to work your amp harder. And Fender has curbed these spicy pickup's microphonics while preserving their open-yet-focused tone by potting them in their own "secret Custom Shop sauce".
