This is a brand new German made Hofner Limited Edition Jubilee Bass. Only 60 were made available in the USA. Martin Music is an Authorized Hofner Dealer and we are proud to offer you this incredible instrument. This bass was only out of the box for us to inspect it and take pictures. It is in 100% perfect condition.
After the huge success of the first batch of Chinese made Jubilee basses, Hofner released a limited number of German made basses.

One of the world's most distinguished bass guitars, the Hofner Violin Bass Guitar offers those wanting to own one of the world's iconic guitars the chance to do so. This is a unique opportunity to own an incredibly rare and limited edition version of the Violin Bass featuring a Union Jack design on the top. The serial numbers are 1953-2012 representing each one of the years that Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne. It is essentially a 62 spec Hofner Violin bass with:
Flame maple back and sides. Union Jack custom spray job, with the white of the flag being the flame maple showing through. Comes with limited edition certificate and individual serial number - only 120 made worldwide. Comes with custom hard case.
The Hofner 500/1 violin bass was designed by Walter Hofner and launched at the Frankfurt Music Messe in 1956. It has since gone on to become one of the most recognizable electric bass guitars in the music world in terms of both looks and sound. Based on the original 1962 Hofner model. Full hollow body. Original Hofner '62 neck profile for added sustain and playability.

Sir Paul McCartney played at the Jubilee Concert in London on 4th June 2012. The concert was part of a week long celebrations in the UK to mark 60 years as the monarch for The Queen. Paul headlined the concert, coming on at the end to play three songs. On the final song, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, he switched from his regular Hofner bass to one specially made for the concert. This was finished with Union Jack on the top. The audience certainly appreciated the appearance of the bass right at the end of the concert. Later Paul was photographed with the Royal Family holding the bass.
