Tucked away in an upstairs corner of the PRS factory are racks filled with extraordinary tonewoods. Mahogany, maple, rosewood, ebony, swamp ash, korina — you name it. This is the PRS Wood Library. It is from these premium tonewoods that Wood Library guitars like this one are built. This limited-edition PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08 features a sleekly contoured mahogany body, stunning figured maple top, and a fast figured maple neck topped by a silky cocobolo fingerboard with iconic mother-of-pearl J-Birds inlays with paua outlines. This Custom 24-08 is equipped with a pair of toneful 58/15 MT humbucking pickups, and for incredible tonal versatility, PRS added the switching system from their 408 solidbody electric guitar, which gives you a 3-way pickup selector and two mini-toggle switches for coil-splitting each pickup. A PRS Gen III Tremolo bridge/tailpiece and Phase III locking tuners complete the setup. Boasting off-the-charts playability and the sonic dexterity to ace any gig, the PRS Custom 24-08 is a superb instrument that sounds and plays every bit as good as it looks.

Every electric guitar tone you could ever need
This guitar features PRS 58/15 MT humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions. 58/15 MT pickups serve up the warm and clear sonic elixir that propelled the original 58/15 pickups to the top of many guitarists’ favorite PAF-style humbucker lists, but like 58/15 LT (Low Turn) they’re wound with fewer wire turns for even more clarity and nuance. The MT (Multi-Tap) versions are also specifically designed to compensate for volume loss when split to single-coil mode via the two onboard mini-toggle switches. Combined with a 5-way pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone controls, the Wood Library Custom 24-08 serves up any electric guitar tone you could ever need for any stage gig or recording session.




408 switching: advanced sonic versatility
To really get the most out of the 58/15 MT pickups, PRS equipped the Custom 24-08 with the switching system from their popular 408 guitar. Two coil-split toggle switches allow you to coax single-coil snap from each pickup individually. Combined with 3-way switching, you’ll have eight different sonic combinations to explore, and that’s before you even begin working the Master Volume and Tone controls. Pattern Thin neck profile for fluid playability
This PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08 features PRS’s Pattern Thin neck profile. Evolved from designs Paul Reed Smith has been working on for decades and perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Thin neck carve is an updated version of the traditional Wide Thin neck style. The Pattern Thin neck shape is fast and comfortable — ideal for players with smaller hands or guitarists who use classical left-hand positioning, pivoting with their thumb on the back of the neck.
