Gibson Les Paul Special Electric Guitar with P-90 Pickups

The Les Paul Special with P-90s is an excellent rock guitar at a very attractive price. Basic, straightforward and ready to rock hard. Two classic P-90 pickups are loaded into a solid mahogany body for pure Gibson power. Mahogany set neck with baked maple fingerboard and nitro lacquer finish, naturally, for pure Gibson Tone! The two-pickup Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model, positioned between the low-cost Les Paul Junior and the Les Paul. It was originally available only in a single-cutaway, TV-style limed mahogany finish. A double-cutaway Special and cherry red finish option were introduced in 1959. The Les Paul Special made the virtues of the Les Paul available to those who couldn't quite afford the Standard or Custom versions. And it still has all the essential features. Two P-90 single-coil pickups produce the raw powerful tone that helped define the blues and rock and roll in their formative years. Today, the P90's traditional combination of high output and brilliant tone is still considered a favorite among many top musicians.
