The S2 Vela Satin is a vintage-inspired guitar with loads of personalityand tonal textures. Continuing in the style of the Mira and Starlamodels, the Vela boasts an offset body shape that is at once elegant andedgy. The addition of a satin nitro finish for this limited edition givesthe Vela added attitude and resonance and a truly addictive feel.Its pickguard-loaded electronics feature a PRS-Designed Starla pickupin the bridge, providing a bright, punky tone, and the PRS-DesignedType-D Singlecoil in the neck gives the Vela some noteworthy bite.The coil-tap on the tone control allows the bridge pickup to split tosinglecoils, providing a balanced tone that will cut through the mixwith style. Anchoring this guitar is the PRS plate-style bridge with twosaddles that were designed to compensate for intonation. This bridgeharkens back to Paul’s early designs and traditional bass plate-stylebridges, but is top-loading for easy restringing. Like the bridge foundon Paul’s Guitar and some Private Stock models, PRS’s new plate-stylebridge features brass saddles and an aluminum plate for maximumtonal sustain.As you know, our excitement around the S2 series not only stems fromwhat it offers but how we got here.
