The control layout includes a master volume control with Fender’s push-push S-1 switch, a pan pot for pickup selection, a stacked concentric midrange boost/cut plus passive tone control, a stacked concentric treble boost/cut plus bass boost/cut, and a mini-toggle midrange frequency selector. The American Ultra II Jazz Bass’s performance-driven features extend to the neck in a big way. While its quarter-sawn maple construction and eye-catching Fender headstock logo seem standard enough, run up the fingerboard and you’ll know there’s a lot more going on.
