Introducing a new spin on AKAI's APC formula, the APC64 boasts expressive RGB pads with velocity and poly-aftertouch, along with eight modal touch strips and, of course, seamless compatibility with Ableton Live. Central to the APC64 is its 8x8 array of pads, which are equally suited for launching clips as well as playing instruments. Their bright and bold RGB lighting gives you precious clarity on notes and chords within your current musical key, and also corresponds to the clip color designations in your Live Set. Speaking of your Live Set, the APC64's onboard transport controls allow you to remotely control start, stop, and recording functions, while the eight touch stip sliders offer assignable functionality or mappings to volume, panning, and other track controls. The full-color display in the bottom corner also allows you to keep tabs on tempo and other crucial information from your connected Live Set.

Of course, APC64 has plenty of its own new features to offer you in your creative processes. Modify clip data with Probability, Velocity, and Mutate functions for iteratively riffing on your ideas, while the onboard step sequencer lets you intuitively program new melodies and drum patterns. But although the APC64 was born as an Ableton Live controller, standalone mode lets you plug into your favorite hardware pieces and jam away from the computer. TRS MIDI ports and eight CV/gate outputs give you control over external synths, drum machines, and even modular gear. Whether you use it with or without a computer, the APC64 offers plenty of ways to bring your music to life.
