The S2 Studio borrows its bridge pickup and twin Type-D single-coils from the PRS Starla and Vela series, respectively. The vintage output of the singles pairs excellently with, and offers a nice contrast between, the higher-output humbucker. And with seven combinations via a five-way blade selector and push-pull tone pot, the S2 Studio is ready for just about any style of music you can throw at it.




Pattern Regular neck feels great and plays smoothly
The PRS S2 Studio comes with a great-playing Pattern Regular-profile mahogany neck. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Regular neck carve is based on Paul Reed Smith's original, pre-factory neck design — the same used on instruments he built in the late '80s at PRS's Virginia Avenue location. A rich-playing rosewood fingerboard and matching headstock round out the package.
