The Rupert Neve Designs RNDI-8 is an eight-channel active transformer direct interface. An expansion of the best-selling RNDI Active Transformer Direct Interface, the RNDI-8 is built with the same iconic transformer-infused sound as the original, with added convenience and flexibility in a 1RU format.

DISCRETE FET PLUS TRANSFORMER

The RNDI-8 features Class A discrete FET amplifiers and custom transformers for rich, warm sound, plus per-channel ground lifts and -10 dB pads for added control. Its ultra-high headroom ensures even the hottest inputs will be reproduced naturally and musically. With best-in-class low impedance output, users can run longer cabling without signal degradation, and the RNDI-8’s vibrant tone will make the sound of your other DI’s feel brittle and lifeless in comparison.

Designed for ease of use in both onstage rigs as well as control room front ends, the RNDI-8 is the ultimate DI for any professional audio setup. It allows for patching between instrument and amp, as well as amp and cabinet, ensuring even the output stage’s tone is reproduced beautifully. Its options also enable users to send signals out for “re-preamping” during the mix stage, adding pleasant saturation and euphonic harmonics.

TWO DISTINCT GROUND LIFT OPTIONS

Most direct interfaces include a ground lift switch at the output, and the RNDI-8 includes this standard DI ‘lifting’ option via eight individual ‘Pin 1 Isolate’ switches on the rear panel. Engaging this button will usually eliminate common sources of hum in the signal path. However, the RNDI-8 also includes eight ground lift buttons on the front panel which separate each channel’s circuit ground from the chassis ground, providing another helpful option to detect and eliminate unwanted ground hum.
