L-1 STEREO DISCRETE MICROCOMPRESSOR

The L-1 Stereo Discrete Microcompressor brings stereo compression to Eurorack, turning this common studio effect into a fully CV controllable dynamics processor. Building upon the previous version of this module, the compressor circuit has been redesigned to utilize discrete components. This high performance VCA compressor/limiter provides precise control over dynamics with an RMS-level sensor and a feedforward VCA. The Microcompressor is a stereo effect, allowing for two signals to be processed at the same time with the same settings. Attack and release settings control how quickly the compressor reacts to dynamics and each feature CV inputs. The compressor can also function with automatic linked attack and release times, determined by the ratio, make up, and knee settings, either soft or hard. The timing detector can also be switched between peak or automatic. An envelope follower output can be used to control an external VCA or filter in tandem with the Microcompressor. Duck the compressor with the sidechain input, which can be brought in and out using the switch. Compressor/limiters are often overlooked when it comes to constructing a Eurorack system, and this module delivers the kind of compression you can find in many kinds of high end studio gear.
