ERICA SYNTHS FUSION MODULATOR

The Erica Synths Fusion Modulator is a complex and fully-featured analog modulation source, perfect for adding modulation, interest, and animation to a patch. Featuring envelopes, noise, and a sample and hold, this module is a remarkably flexible collection of CV generators.

The heart of the Fusion Modulator are two looping EMS-style envelopes with attack, on, decay, and off controls. Get even more control of the envelope shape with CV over decay time, which is added to the knob position. The envelopes feature simultaneous unipolar 0-10V and bipolar LFO-style -5-+5V outputs—and of course, given their range, they can also be used as audio oscillators. The end of cycle outputs are gate outputs that go high whenever the envelope is in its off stage. The left envelope can be triggered with a manual gate button. Control the dynamics of an audio or CV signal with the internal VCA. By default the bipolar output of the left envelope is normalled into this input. The initial level can be controlled with the VCA offset knob.

In addition to the envelopes, the Fusion Modulator features random modulation from a sample and hold with an internal clock. By default, the internal noise source is patched into the sample and hold, but this can be overridden with external signals. The S&H+BP output combines the right bipolar envelope and sample and hold for a hybrid modulation source that can get pretty wild. While there is some internal routing and normalization, the functionality of the Fusion Modulator can be expanded with patch programming. Try modulating an envelope decay with the sample and hold and then use the EOC to clock the sample and hold for the classic Krell style patch.

The Fusion Modulator is a stellar choice for all sorts of modulation, from predictable to outright wild and chaotic.
