Think you can tame this Beast?Craft your sonic vistaTo pick up the gauntlet of a field whose forward momentum was all but abandoned nearly half a century ago is a formidable task, but the East Beast is a worthy challenger. Built on roughly 10 years of R&D, Cre8audio’s partnership with Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers has yielded 100% modern circuitry designs and components, providing rich, reliable, and robust sound. Choose your waveform fighter (sine, triangle, saw, or square) and modify your heavy-duty sound with the fine-tune, glide, width, and FM parameters. The multi-mode filter has also been engineered from the ground up to eliminated dead spots — all killer no filler. Use it as a lowpass, highpass, bandpass, or a combination of the three to further paint your sonic landscape. The custom circuit of the envelope generator creates a whipping, percussive attack, which can be combined with the dual-range LFO, conjuring up some serious expressive potential. Modularity, MIDI, and the mechanicsCalling this a semi-modular synth is only a technicality: this 40HP unit can be popped straight out of its housing and right into your Eurorack configuration. The East Beast ups its modular ante with 18 patch points, offering endless interoperative capacity with anything in your rig that outputs or accepts CV signals. Voltage control isn’t your thing? The East Beast is a MIDI monster as well, boasting in, out, and thru functions, allowing you to easily integrate the Beast. Onboard tap tempo clock, arpeggiator and sequence controls, and more optimize the Beast to do everything from taking the lead, to breaking out on its own.
