Korg’s First Mass-produced Monophonic Synth, Reborn!
Introduced in 1973, the Korg miniKORG 700 was the company’s first stab at a mass-produced monophonic synth, and it sported an array of idiosyncratic controls that set it apart from the crowd. A year later, Korg launched an updated version, the miniKORG 700S, featuring a second oscillator, which, when combined with the synth’s architecture, transformed it into a powerful lead and bass instrument. Developed in conjunction with the original designer, Fumio Mieda, Korg miniKORG 700FS builds on the foundation of 700S, retaining its authentic character while providing a bevy of expanded features to bring this legendary synth into the 21st century. You’re treated to a highly responsive joystick for controlling pitch bend and modulation, an aftertouch-enabled keybed, an arpeggiator, MIDI in and CV/GATE in, and a memory program button function for storing custom patches. Like the OG 700 and 700S, the 700FS is housed in furniture-grade metal chassis with wooden end cheeks, and its unique control layout offers an inspiring and immersive performance experience. Sweetwater is proud to offer this limited re-creation of an iconic monophonic synthesizer!
