Sweetwater's guitar gurus regularly visit the Wood Library to hand select the woods for exclusive, limited-edition Sweetwater-spec'd guitars. The PRS Wood Library 509 boasts an amazing array of humbucking and single-coil tones, thanks to five single-coil pickups mounted in its carved figured maple 10-Top. The easy-to-use electronics package lets you switch between nine different tonal variations via a 5-way pickup selector and two mini toggles. The 509 also features an East Indian rosewood neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, a comfortable 25.25-inch scale length, gold mother-of-pearl outline Bird inlays, and a PRS Gen III tremolo. Pattern Regular neck profile for fluid playability

This Wood Library 509 features PRS's Pattern Regular neck profile. Evolved from designs Paul Reed Smith has been working on for decades and perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Regular neck shape is like the traditional PRS Regular neck found on PRS guitars made in the late 1980s. The Pattern Regular neck carve is a nice balance between fat '50s-style necks and the thin necks that became popular in the early '60s. It's ideal for players who alternate between thumb-over fretting techniques and classical left-hand positioning, pivoting with their thumb on the back of the neck.

Nine humbucking and single-coil tones

What puts the PRS 509 on the map is its extremely diverse pickup system. At first glance, the 509 appears to have a standard H/S/H pickup configuration, but those humbuckers are actually independent, side-by-side single-coil pickups. Thanks to the 509's flexible pickup switching, you can set these pickups as true single-coils or full, dual-coil humbuckers. In combination with the guitar's 5-way blade pickup selector switch and two mini toggles, the 509 electronics deliver a total of nine distinct pickup configurations.
