Delivers authentic tube-fueled British tone

While many overdrive pedals promise "genuine tube tone," they rely on solid-state clipping, digital modeling, or some other sonic methodology to achieve their sound. V4 The Sheriff, on the other hand, is the real deal, sporting four actual vacuum tubes — an EC900 and three CV4014s — all running at high-plate voltage. Two footswitchable channels of classic British tone

Victory Amps V4 The Sheriff includes two channels, each with their own independent volume control. The Volume I channel delivers 1960s-era British tones, including blues-inflected cleans and a muscular hard rock crunch with supple, vintage-tinged mids. The Volume II channel transports you straight to the Sunset Strip with more gain, in-your-face midrange punch, and tight lows. You'll appreciate how easily the V4 cleans up with a simple rolling back of your axe's volume knob. What's more, this tube preamp pedal allows you to switch channels effortlessly via an external switching unit or with its onboard footswitch.

Permits full amplifier integration

V4 The Sheriff provides you with two modes of operation. Standalone mode functions like a typical overdrive stompbox, goosing the front end of your amplifier with tube-inflected goodness. Amp Through Mode, on the other hand, offers full integration with your existing amplifier. And it's easier to wire up than you might think. Simply plug the V4 into your amp's effects loop. Switch the pedal on, and you'll bypass your preamp section, piping the V4's classic British tube tone straight into your amplifier's power section. Switch the pedal off, and your preamp section will be re-engaged, enabling your amp to behave as normal. Deploying your other effects is easy — just treat the V4 like the front end of an amp. For example, run drives and compressors into the V4, and time-based effects between the V4 and your amp's effect return. The V4 also includes a 3-position Bright switch to optimize it for your amplifier and application.
