Desktop Matrix Mixer Inspired by the Erica Synths Syntrx
The Erica Matrix Mixer pulls the patch matrix from the Erica Synths Syntrx and drops on to your desktop for use with your Eurorack system. Taking its cues from the EMS Synthi AKS, the Matrix Mixer is modern incarnation of the pin matrix, which provided a convenient way to reroute a modular synthesizer’s signal flow via connections made by inserting a physical pin at the intersection of an input and output axis point. The Matrix Mixer retains the intuitive design of its predecessors but upgrades it by eliminating the pin and replacing it with easy-to-use encoder navigation.
With 16 inputs and 16 outputs, the Matrix Synth enables you to network numerous Eurorack modules for concocting mind-bogglingly complex patches. And, because it’s digitally controlled, the Matrix Synth allows you to store your patches in its 254 available memory slots — which are then accessible right from the front panel. It all adds up to 256 possible connections, each with 3 attenuation levels. Plus, the inputs and outputs are DC-coupled, meaning the Matrix Synth accommodates audio and CV signals! Synthesists at Sweetwater were also pleased to see that Erica Synths included a MIDI input for switching patches via MIDI program change messages, an awesome feature when performing with your Eurorack rig alongside other instruments. Explore the full limits of your Eurorack rig and enjoy your favorite patches again and again with the Matrix Mixer from Erica Synths!
