The Martin D-35 Johnny Cash Acoustic Guitar is a fitting tribute to this prolific, legendary artist and his favorite Martin acoustic. This commemorative D-35 is modeled after Johnny Cash's highly prized, specially-made Martin D-35 that wore a polished black finish, which was a first for both him and C.F. Martin & Co. For nearly two decades, Cash was seldom seen on stage without his D-35, and today, Martin is proud to offer players a special edition D-35 Johnny Cash to celebrate this distinguished artist and his guitar. Dressed in all black, the body is crafted from solid East Indian rosewood back & sides paired with a solid Engelmann spruce soundboard that's supported by standard "X" scalloped forward shifted bracing with thinner 1/4" Sitka spruce braces. The select hardwood neck is comfortably shaped into in Martin's Modified Low Oval profile and is capped with a solid black ebony fingerboard that's bound in classic grained ivoroid and showcases distinctive select abalone star inlays outlined in mother-of-pearl. Other premium features include a bone nut, a solid black ebony bridge with a compensated bone saddle, a Style 45 abalone rosette, a solid East Indian rosewood headplate with an old style logo, a black pickguard and Martin's traditional HD Zig Zag back purfling. The Martin D-35 Johnny Cash is numbered in sequence and the interior label is signed by CF Martin IV & Johnny's son John Carter Cash. Comes with the protection of a hardshell case.
