The Parallel Universe Volume II Jazz Stratocaster marries Jazzmaster appointments to a Stratocaster body, proving that the sum can be greater than its parts. Featuring Pure Vintage pickups, Jazzmaster hardware, a treble bleed circuit and a custom Decoboom pickguard, this limited-edition Fender is a seriously tempting instrument. Made in the USA, we think it’s great for any genre of music you throw at it.
Electronics in the Jazz Stratocaster
Dual Pure Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster single-coils pickups offer clean-and-clear tones that can be turned up for edgy snarl with lots of texture. Both are wax-potted to prevent microphonics. They feature vintage bobbin construction and original-era cloth wiring. A treble-bleed circuit maintains the highs even when you dial-down the volume.
Jazz Strat Hardware
The Parallel Universe Jazz Strat utilizes an American Professional Jazzmaster bridge, engineered with new saddles to keep the strings stable during use. It’s also easy to adjust the arm’s tension to find the sweet-spot for your playing style. ClassicGear tuners may look old-school, but they come with a modern 18:1 gear ratio for fine tuning.
Jazz Strat Tonewoods
Fender chose alder for the Jazz Strat’s body, a lightweight wood with a resonant, balanced tone. Alder is also known for its excellent sustain, sharp attack and ability to take finishes well. In this case, it’s gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.
Neck Construction
The Vol. II Jazz Strat has maple neck with a medium C-profile. The rosewood fretboard has 22 medium jumbo frets and borrows the white pearloid block inlays that debuted on the Jazzmaster in 1966.
Other Custom Features
Fender outfitted the Jazz Strat with a custom Decoboom pickguard, made by a one-man operation in a small California town without a single streetlight. It has one-ply binding and hand-painted accents. Vintage-style aluminum radio knobs fit right in with the style scheme.

The Jazz Stratocaster combines the best features of a Strat and Jazzmaster, then decks it out in style. With a great neck, stellar pickups and a smooth tremolo, the Fender Parallel Vol. II Jazz Strat makes sense on all levels. It includes a certificate of authenticity and a Surf Green deluxe hardshell case.
