M 130 - Ideal for Mid-Side recording
When used in conjunction with the hypercardioid M 160, the M 130 is ideal for creating an authentic stereo image through the use of the M-S (Mid-Side) technique. The M 130 delivers excellent M-S results when recording or broadcasting a true stereo image.

M 130 - Outstanding for ambience recording
The M 130's rugged design handles the demands of remote recording/broadcast sessions as easily as in-studio use. Used by itself, the M 130 allows the recording of background audience noise and concert hall "ambience" without unwanted resonances. In the studio the M 130 is effective with backing vocal groups, percussion and mounted toms. The M 130's crisply articulated, uncolored sound is well-suited to such demanding audiophile applications as digital and direct-to-disc recording.

M 160 - Use it anywhere

Long regarded by audio professionals as one of the top choices for capturing the sound of a wide variety of acoustic stringed instruments - everything from violins and violas to acoustic guitars and zithers - the M 160 also delivers impressive results with typically hard-to-mic acoustic instruments in general. It can treat a blaring sax or a cracking hi-hat with the same skill and ease! Small and black chromium-plated to prevent glare, the M 160 is also ideal for television and film studios, where discretion is important.

M 160 - Two ribbons!
The M 160 is a dynamic microphone that, unlike other ribbon mics, has two ribbons! These ribbons, each of which is only two-thousandths of a millimeter thick, are arranged one above the other just half a millimeter apart. Beyerdynamic's masterful technical design and production performance has produced a system that is sonically clear and well defined.
