The Taylor 816ce has a solid Sitka spruce top with CV bracing and Taylor’s signature relief rout to give you the lush sound you seek from a large bodied guitar. The grand symphony sized body with Indian mahogany back and sides projects enormous sound with a rich, bright tone. The Venetian cutaway allows access to the higher frets and adds to the visual beauty of the guitar, as does the mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, curly maple body and fretboard bindings, pearl fretboard inlays, abalone rosette, Taylor gold tuners and tobacco sunburst finish.


The ES® integrated pickup system allows you to plug in and be heard in any situation. The ES® combines an under-the-bridge transducer with Taylor’s Dynamic Body Sensor® fastened to the soundboard, and a Dynamic String Sensor® built-in beneath the fretboard to faithfully pick up every nuance of your music with the same clear, natural acoustic sound you hear when you play unplugged, while the battery powered onboard preamp provides dynamic response and a custom voiced EQ with active Volume, Bass and Treble controls to shape your amplified sound.
