Guild D-40 Richie Havens Acoustic-Electric Guitar W/Fishman

A tribute to Havens with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back & sides, and a Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup system.




Musical history was made in the summer of 1969 when a young and spirited folk musician took the stage on the opening day of the Woodstock Music & Arts Festival and mesmerized the audience with his soulful voice and driving, rhythmic guitar style. He was none other than the venerable Richie Havens. During that historic Woodstock performance and throughout his career, Havens has relied on the balanced and powerful sound of the Guild D-40.

Guild is proud to offer the D-40 in a Richie Havens signature version. This tribute to Havens features a solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Mahogany back & sides, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins, his favorite double-pickguard setup and his signature on the truss rod cover. Special features include Red Spruce bracing, Ebony headcap with Mother-of-Pearl logo, dual-action truss rod, a tighter top radius, slim neck heel, Gotoh® SE700 series open back tuners, and the Fishman® Matrix™ Infinity pickup system.

Fishman® Matrix™ Infinity
The Matrix Infinity pickup and preamp system offers clear, transparent tone, dynamic string response and ease of installation. Soundhole-mounted Volume and Tone rotary controls allow the player to make easily accessible adjustments.

Taking the pickup’s tonal variation capability one step further, the Matrix Infinity incorporates a switchable voicing feature to accommodate all guitar body sizes and different performance situations in one system. With a long list of enhancements, the Matrix Infinity has redefined the category of undersaddle pickup systems.
