Roland steps it up with digital sensors

The PD-140DS snare features a triple-ply mesh head on a polished metal shell that looks like an acoustic snare and even mounts on a standard snare stand (sold separately). And thanks to the TD27 electronic drum module and the digital sensors, these drums sound just as good as they look. The intelligent sensors know which part of the drum you’re hitting and with what velocity, and can detect your palm when you’re playing cross-stick. The ride has multiple sensors on the bow, plus bell, edge, and choke, so you can play it all over like an acoustic ride.
A redesigned module with the best of both worlds
At the heart of the Roland TD-27KV is the new TD-27 module, which combines features and samples from both the TD-50 and the TD-17 modules, making it great for both students and pros. It pulls from Roland’s massive sample library for a total of over 700 instruments, plus special editing effects like room ambience and reverb. Each pad can be edited and tuned individually, and you can save your custom kits with SD card storage. You can keep track of all these effects with the large screen taken from the flagship TD-50, plus 4 dials and a row of versatile buttons for interacting with the settings and menus on screen. Whether you just want to get playing, or you’re excited to dig into the tiny details, this module is rewarding to use.
Connectors for every gig or studio
The TD-27KV has tons of coaching features you’d expect from Roland kit, making it excellent for quiet practice. But for those looking to get more out of their V-Drums this module has an array of connectors: 3 digital trigger inputs, 3 aux inputs, headphone jack, Bluetooth, a direct output for live sound, audio input for playing along to music, plus MIDI in/out and USB computer connectivity. In addition to the snare and ride, this kit comes with three 10” mesh tom pads, a kick pad that fits a real bass drum pedal and hi-hat pad that mounts to your favorite hi-hat stand (pedal and stand sold separately).
