By building to targeted specifications, Breedlove has kept the Concerto nimble and light enough for hours of play and a lifetime of use, especially with its roaring torrefied top.
Tonewood that’s sustainably sourced and a torrefied top
At Musician’s Friend, we love that no clear-cut woods are used in the Breedlove Organic Collection, only sustainably sourced all-solid FSC Certified exotic tonewoods and native myrtlewood. But we’re even more impressed with the sound. The “aged” power of torrefied European spruce tops is every bit the match for high-end U.S. models. Torrefaction—essentially roasting the wood—doesn’t just help you sound great, but makes the instrument easier to maintain in light of temperature and humidity changes. For this model, Breedlove choice African mahogany for the back and sides—sustainably sourced from the African Congo River Basin Rainforest.
Breedlove Concerto body shape
The Concerto shape is the largest of the Breedlove Organic Collection. In creating the Concerto shape, Breedlove set out to develop a guitar that would surpass the classic big-body sound of the dreadnought. The Concerto brings out more tonal complexity while offering a much more comfortable playing experience.
