Fender's Tom Morello "Soul Power" Strat, introduced at the 2020 NAMM show, is based on the heavily modified early 2000s Designer Series Strat Morello played over his time with Audioslave. We see it as more than simply a signature guitar, but one that's designed for radical sound and playing styles.
The soul of its looks
Unlike the classic Strat body, this guitar, like the original Designer Series, goes for a flat, slab-type top with binding. It keeps the traditional "tummy cut" of the back, so playing comfort isn't compromised. The Soul Power's looks are enhanced by a mirrored chrome pickguard and matching painted headstock, that will make you look twie. Topped off with the iconic "Soul Power" decal, we think it has a look that's distinctive and a little edgy.
A neck made for comfort and versatility
The deep-C profile neck is supremely comfortable for both rhythm and single-note playing, thanks to a 22-fret, 9.5-14" compound-radius rosewood fingerboard that enables comfortable chording while keeping upper fret playing buzz-free.
Pickups made for gain
Seymour Duncan's renowned Hot Rails humbucker at the bridge complements Fender's latest generation noiseless pickups in the neck and middle positions. So use as much gain as you want, the guitar will take it, even with extreme feedback. A kill-switch toggle enables Morello's signature stutter.
Locking tremolo for the whinny
A recessed double-locking Floyd Rose vibrato system means you get attack the "waggle stick" as hard as you want. The combination of locking nut and locking tuners means double stability for the most aggressive whammy attacks.Over the years, we've seen a lot of hot-rodded Stratocaster guitars. It's almost a tradition. The Tom Morello "Soul Power" Strat takes the best of those mods and adds more than a little of Morello's distinct personality.
