Gibson Custom Collector's Choice #36 is based on a 1957 Goldtop Les Paul owned by Charles Daughtry. This particular solidbody electric guitar is well known in vintage collectors' circles for having the ideal Les Paul tone. The neck is also extremely comfortable, being described by Daughtry as, "perfect cheek...silky and comfortable." And the guitar came off the line the same week as Duane Allman's iconic "Layla" Les Paul. There was definitely some rock 'n' roll magic happening in Kalamazoo, Michigan that week.
