Wildwood Guitars is humbled and honored to present the latest iteration of the Wildwood Spec Les Paul! All hide-glue construction and premium tone wood selection come together to create some of the most resonant, lively instruments we’ve had the privilege of playing. You can not only see the difference, but you can FEEL it, too. Obsessively perfect, ultra-accurate plastics and aesthetic appointments compliment unique finish options, along with 1-piece mahogany backs, historically accurate deluxe Kluson tuners, and gorgeous maple tops to create an instrument with looks that match it’s tonality in both accuracy and feel. Additionally, a historically accurate serial number is added for a beautifully convincing, historically accurate presentation. Sonically, these powerhouses are driven by two proprietary Wildwood Spec pickups to deliver a vintage-accurate tonal presentation with unrivaled clarity, sweetness and articulation. Tonal Evaluation
This is a Les Paul fit for Andre the Giant! It’s brawny enough to take someone to the mat in seconds, and sophisticated enough to write about it in Latin afterwards. The bottom end sounds sort of like a battleship in the midst of a bombardment, but it somehow never gets flabby or undefined thanks to the remarkable sparkle on the top end. The neck pickup has Death Star-sized lows, but the fundamental rings clearest until you get to the treble frequencies, where you get some nice sparkly harmonic content to keep everything clear. The bridge pickup sounds like a Telecaster Deluxe that hit a surprise second growth spurt—lots of airy, chiming bell-tones above that signature Les Paul midrange muscle. These two very different pickup voicings make this an incredibly versatile guitar with sound fit for a giant, and it would make a great addition to any tone-hound’s collection!
