A PRS Gen III Tremolo bridge/tailpiece and Phase III locking tuners complete the setup. Vintage-voiced 85/15 humbucking pickups
PRS 85/15 pickups balance vintage character with modern clarity to deliver the sweet — yet articulate — sound and rich harmonic overtones of vintage humbuckers. 408 switching: advanced sonic versatility
To really get the most out of the 85/15 pickups, PRS equipped the Custom 24-08 10-Top with the switching system from their popular 408 guitar. Two coil-split toggle switches allow you to coax single-coil snap from each pickup individually. Combined with three-way switching, you’ll have eight different sonic combinations to explore, and that’s before you even begin working the Master Volume and Master Tone controls.




Pattern Regular neck profile for fluid playability
The Custom 24-08 10-Top features PRS’s Pattern Regular neck profile. Evolved from designs Paul Reed Smith has been working on for decades and perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Regular neck shape is similar to the traditional Regular-profile neck found on PRS guitars made in the late 1980s. The Pattern Regular neck carve is a nice balance between fat ’50s-style necks and the thin necks that became popular in the early ’60s. It’s ideal for players who alternate between thumb-over fretting techniques and classical left-hand positioning, pivoting with their thumb on the back of the neck.
