George Benson is legendary for the soul and nuance that he plays with. He designed this signature GB Twin to deliver a harmonically rich clean tone that allows all of his nuance to come through. You'll love how the 85-watt, 6L6-based power section delivers seemingly unending headroom. And George had Fender place a 12AY7 preamp tube in the amp's Normal channel for even more clarity and complexity in the midrange.
Looks great at home or onstage
One look at the GB Twin Reverb, and it will have you thinking of the great '65 Blackface Twins. But George dressed this Twin up to be as attractive onstage as it will be in your living room. The smoky gray vinyl covering outlines the vintage-looking black control plate beautifully. And the silver sparkle grille cloth is ornamented with George's signature logo on the lower-right corner. The amp looks so good that every Sweetwater guitarist seems to want one just to display in their studios.
Won't break your back
The GB Twin Reverb is also a supremely giggable amplifier. With a few modifications, Fender was able to reduce the weight of a standard Twin Reverb by 13 lbs. The two Jensen 12" Tornado speakers are neodymium and sound marvelous whether clean and punchy or overdriven. And Fender constructed the GB with a solid pine cabinet, which adds resonance and reduces the overall weight of the amplifier even further.
