The '59 Les Paul Standard is one of the most iconic Les Pauls' not just because of it's stunning flame maple top and beautiful patina sunburst finish but because it's PAF humbuckers sometimes have certain 'hand made' imperfections that produce a unique and highly desirable sound. Designed with versatility in mind but we also found that Heavy Metal pinch harmonics leap off the fretboard like vibrant apparitions. This is one exciting pickup because it is not over-wound and therefore responds to light and shade of pick attack far better then over-wound hot pickups (and most PAF syle humbuckers too). It's the only Kinman humbucker with asymmetric coils (however is as silent as our other models), this supposedly is the reason for it's exceptional pinch harmonics and exemplary tonal timbre which means you can actually pick out the individual notes in a full-on power chord under high gain distortion. Also very dynamic with extra punch and a very pleasing tone.
Split single coil sound is the secret weapon of the 59 LPS, very Strat-like and has better loudness balance and noticeably less hum than regular humbuckers.

Available in 2 versions which together we call the '59 suite ....

59 LPS (normal wind usually for the bridge position)
59 LPS Light (slightly under-wound and less loud, usually for the neck position)

However the PAF-59LPS Light may be paired with the PAF Astound and the PAF-59LPS may be paired with the PAF+.

Asymmetric coils usually means unbalanced hum voltages which result in hum, it's the reason most regular humbuckers have some hum. However, with our advanced magnetics and cunning engineering there is hum balance between the coils which produces less Hum than a regular humbucker.
This Kinman humbucker is the most conventional and is most like a genuine great PAF type of all our PAF models (but better). Inspired by the iconic 59 Les Paul Standard. Designed to shine under distortion in heavy metal and full-on rock our road testing guitar player was having a great time, he couldn't put the guitar down in spite of his being late for an appointment. He got really excited and inspired with it. The pinch harmonics literally leap out on notes you wouldn't expect them to. And .... you can easily pickup out the individual notes in a full-on power chord under high gain distortion. Also very dynamic with pleasing tone. I must admit I was excited with every second of his venture into heavy metal with this astonishing pickup. All this without over-winding the coils so the sound is highly expressive and is not muddy. Direct replacement for conventional humbuckers.
Hook-up cable

Can be split so has a 3 conductor hook-up cable. The primary coil with adjustable screw poles has the greater number of turns so it's a strong single coil in split mode.
4 conductor cabling for Series, Parallel as well as Split upon request.

Bare wires for soldering.
Kinman connectors for plugging into any Kinman Goodbye-Soldering Harness.- including the 2 pickup KHP-90 for Gibson style guitars.

Output Polarity:

in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers
in-phase with all other Kinman pickups
opposite phase to Fender Strat

Pot & Capacitor values

Best with 500k Ohm for Volume & Tone. Many Gibson's have 300k which makes a darker, less dynamic sound.
Normal tone cap value of 0.022µF in 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester. Smaller value lessen the severity of Treble cut, higher values increase it.

Pole spread

50mm for all applications except the bridge position of a Strat with vintage 6 point bridge and saddle spread of 56.4mm as well as bridge position in other guitars with a bridge saddle spread less than 54mm.
53mm for bridge position in Strats with a genuine vintage 6 point bridge, saddle spread of 56.4mm.

Closed top ONLY in Natural Nickel-Silver, Kin-Chrome and Gold plating. Our exclusive Kin-Chrome covers have Zero impact on sonic performance (a world first)
Kinman humbuckers are engineered differently without molded plastic bobbins to avoid the pitfalls of Seth Lovers design. Removing covers will not reveal bobbins and we advise against it.
