Henretta Engineering Red Brick Delay
The RED BRICK delay is an effect that uses the PT2399 digital delay chip. Your dry signal travels through an all-analog path, and the delay effect is mixed in to provide a reliable and versatile set of sounds that don’t degrade your tone. The RED BRICK is part of Henretta Engineering’s line of set-and-forget noknob pedals. Internal trimmers allow you to dial in the perfect settings, and then you know it’s always there with a tap of your foot while you focus on playing your guitar! The RED BRICK delay is factory set with a classic slapback effect, but it can do much more. Below are descriptions of the internal controls as well as our favorite settings. Remove the four screws and bottom plate to access the internal controls. TIME – trimpot near the top left of the circuit board when foot switch is down and LED is up. Go from just a few milliseconds (fully counter clockwise) to around 450 milliseconds (fully clockwise). REPEATS – trimpot near top right of circuit board when foot switch is down and LED is up. Fully counter clockwise is a single repeat. The number of repeats increases as you turn this control clockwise. This control is affected by the location of the tone control. When the tone control is near its extreme ranges (fully counter clockwise or fully clockwise), it provides a hotter signal that drives the repeats. Self oscillation can occur at surprisingly low repeat setting when the tone is in these ranges. TONE – trimpot near middle right of circuit board when foot switch is down and LED is up. Go from low end boosted to a slight mid-emphasis to high end boosted as you turn this control clockwise. LEVEL – trimpot near bottom right of circuit board when foot switch is down and LED is up. This is a simple volume control for the delay effect. Your dry signal is unaffected by this setting. Henretta Engineering Red Brick Delay Features: Housed in a tiny 2-1/8” x 2-5/16” enclosure that’s sure to squeeze onto any pedal board. Step on the footswitch to turn the pedal on and off. The LED lights up to indicate that the circuit is active. The powered circuit is completely removed (true bypass) from your signal chain when the pedal is off. Power: You can only power RED BRICK with an external power supply (9 VDC) with the commonly used center-negative barrel connector. The maximum current draw is 30mA www.music-blvd.com ![]() |
