The Gibson SG Standard P-90 is fitted with two P-90 pickups. Gibson's first successful single-coil pickup, the P-90 can be heard on countless classic recordings. Gibson's SG Standard P-90 sports a comfortable, fast-action neck with a satisfyingly rounded profile. Whether you're chording down low or soloing up high, this taper always feels just right. With its harmonically-rich rosewood fingerboard and iconic double-horned cutaway that gives you access to all 22 frets, this SG's a lean, mean rock machine.
Nitrocellulose finish
The Gibson SG Standard P-90 wears a gorgeous nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Nitro finishes - standard back in the '60s and '70s - are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look vintage-y wonderful; they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities. And Sweetwater guitarists love the way they age, adding even more of a classic aura to this great guitar.
