Most extremely high-end electric guitars that boast premium famed or quilt maple tops come outfitted with AAA-grade maple. That's what Gibson chose for the back of the Les Paul Supreme. That's right - for the top of the guitar (the part your audience will actually see), nothing but top-quality AAAA maple would do, and when you see the vivid, almost three-dimensional striping leap to life in front of your eyes, you'll hardly believe what you're seeing. Of course, run-of-the-mill hardware just wasn't going to cut it, so Gibson outfitted the 2015 Les Paul Supreme with all gold hardware and then topped it off with real mother-of-pearl crown fretboard inlays, too, just for good measure.

A tried-and-true pickup combination, Gibson equipped the 2015 Les Paul Supreme with a floating humbucker at the neck and a covered 492T at the bridge. This combination appealed to a wide range of guitarists here at Sweetwater when we got a preview of the '15 Les Paul Supreme, and we think you'll dig it, too. Sonically, the floating humbucker sits somewhere between a Firebird and a mini humbucker, giving you incredible clarity and definition with an acoustic-like vibe. It really shines when you play tight jazzy chords and adds a bit of jangle to strummed playing. Back at the bridge, there's a 492T whose hotter output and pronounced midrange bite really flesh out your tone.

Comfort and playability were two of Gibson's primary concerns when they were designing this 2015 Les Paul Supreme solidbody electric guitar. This guitar's neck and fretboard are .050" wider on each side, making bends and vibrato much easier on its outer strings. Speaking of this Les Paul Supreme's silky-smooth fretboard, it's now sanded and buffed to perfection with an all-new oil treatment - an amazingly smooth feel for faster players. Also, Gibson's new patent-pending Zero Fret Nut can be easily adjusted with a hex key if your action is too high - no filing necessary. The Gibson Les Paul Supreme plays like a well-worn classic, thanks to a new PLEK process and a new lower fret wire.
