Designed from the ground up to deliver the power and response of a 70’s era Marshall, the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret delivers in spades. Integrating key elements of a Marshall pre-amp, the DLS MKII brings that classic tone to a stompbox that is ideal for an “always on” foundation pedal. It stacks with other drives and fuzz pedals easily to provide a platform of classic British tone or will stand alone as an overdrive for that Marshall goodness at any level. The MKII version of the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret has replaced the Rock/Rawk switch with a two knob “tone enhancer” circuit in the form of Presence and Fullness controls while the Master and Pre-Amp controls have been properly labeled to conform with Marshall standards. Presence controls the high treble frequencies and is wide in response for a number of “sweet spots” that narrow band tone controls just can’t deliver. The Fullness knob controls the low frequencies in the “cab thump” range and is best adjusted from zero up until the right amount of chest thumping air is being moved. The Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret MKII is a clear upgrade from the original with added versatility and the same sweet, sweet tone.
