When you're performing on stage you don't have time to stop and navigate your keyboard settings. While it's easy to create your custom set of sounds on the Artis before you hit the stage, it's just as easy to tweak things on the fly too. With nine sliders and a 3-band EQ section right on the front panel, you can tweak your sounds however you need to without missing a beat. And thanks to the Quick Split/Layer control, it's just as easy to combine and layer sounds without needing a set break.

While it's not a new feature for Kurzweil it's one of their best - dynamic allocation of polyphony means you'll never hear notes "drop off" when you reach maximum polyphony. So even if you're playing heavily-layered sounds with lots of effects, the Artis is selective about which voices to drop in favor of new voices. You don't really need to think about it, but it's a huge deal when you hear how seamless and natural performances sound even with complex sounds.
